Swell-safe fendering
The horizontal fender hangs outside,
the vertical one protects the hull
It is not always possible to get into a comfortable box at every marina. Especially harbours with a strong swell at the mole can be heavy to handle. The boat is moving and the fenders are squeaking. The solution for this problem is a combination of two long fenders hanging above each other, forming a cross. In addition, two spring lines keep the boot in postion. The aft line is kept short and if possible at a right angle. They should not be too tight, so the yacht can still move around the vertical fender. That way the swell is not only kept away during back and forth movements, but also during up and down movements.
