Baltic 112 - Plans on show

A big event is looming on the horizon: although the Baltic 112, designed by the Bremerhaven-based design office of judel/vrolijk, will not be completed until the summer of 2011, the Finnish Baltic yard is showing initial plans at boot Düsseldorf 2009. The 112 is aimed at the experienced owner who has hitherto sailed a smaller Baltic yacht and, although having racing ambitions too, is looking primarily for maximum comfort on long-distance voyages.

The mahogany interior is to be finished without additional staining, because the yard believes that it will thus retain its natural appearance over a long period. The raised deckhouse will offer magnificent views, while the cockpit with its large sunloungers provides a sheltered location for sitting. The rig includes four spreaders and two selftacking jibs. Thanks to its retractable keel, the draught of this sailing yacht weighing 93 tonnes can be reduced from 5.50m to 3.50m.
