Jongert 5200M - luxurious comfort

At boot Düsseldorf Jongert Shipyard introduces the design of a new 5200M. This modern lined yacht is the most recent innovation of the shipyard that made a successful restart in 2009 and once again is one of the leading Dutch shipyards. Boot Düsseldorf can be visited from 23 – 31 January and is opened daily from 10 am until 6 pm. Jongert Shipyard can be found in Hall 7 (Superyacht Show) on stand 7a-B08.
A typical Jongert
‘This 5200M is a typical Jongert’, says naval architect René van der Velden. ‘In the past you saw a sailing yacht and from a far distance you knew “That’s a Jongert”. ‘That recognizability has been brought back in this design. It’s our vision on the well-known Jongert yachts.’ Jongert builts aside the own range of yachts also fully custom built yachts. ‘The own range of yachts can be seen as semi custom built’, explains Van der Velden. ‘Recognizing that everyone has their own priorities and idea of how they wish to use their yacht, we work closely with each of our clients to identify the characteristics that are important to them and incorporate these into the yacht’s design. The result is a yacht of distinctive detailing without the expense and speculation of a one-off and without the concessions that come with a production yacht.’
Privacy, luxury and comfort
More than ever the emphasis of the 5200M is on privacy, luxury and comfort. ‘A good example is the beach club zone’, says Van der Velden. ‘This zone includes a large sunbathing platform, a wet bar, a shower and a toilet. This area is accessible directly from the four VIP guest cabins. Another example is the fact that we have made a special passageway alongside the wheelhouse that connects the different sitting areas so that it is not necessary to use the gangways. Via the passageway you can, for instance, go directly from the wheelhouse on the aft deck to the sunbathing area on the front deck.’ The after deck can, amongst others, be used for placing two jet skis on one side and a RIB on the other side. The front deck has enough space for installing a swimming pool or placing a big RIB alongside the spacious sunbathing area. The master cabin (for two persons) is placed in a way that the beam of the yacht (10,35 m) is fully used.

Focus on sailing yachts
Traditionally the shipyard's emphasis will be on the development and construction of sailing yachts and this will be its main activity’, says Folkert Brongers, general manager of Jongert Shipyard. ‘Jongert is the only Dutch sailing yacht builder with it’s own range of yachts and has always been top of the line as far as sailing yachts are concerned. We will continue to do so.’ However, Jongert will not forget its older customers, who sometimes desire the comfort and ease of a motor yacht. ‘The motor yacht line is available and will be extended in addition to and not instead of the sailing yachts.’ Refitting will also be one of the activities.
