X-Yachts introduces the all-new Xp 44 performance cruiser-racer

X-Yachts Design Group has unveiled plans for their most innovative performance cruiser design yet - the Xp 44. The Xp 44 represents the latest development in X-Yachts’ performance cruiser range - the Xperformance line. The philosophy behind the Xp 44 was to offer a significant step forward in the production cruiser-racer market, combining contemporary developments in performance yacht design with X-Yachts’ high-quality engineering.

Significantly higher stability
More than 40 new features - above and below deck - have been utilized to achieve a total weight saving of approx 2,200 kg compared to the "old" model, the trendsetting X-43, which Xp 44 mainly replaces. Xp 44 will be very competitive under both IRC and ORC. The Xp 44 features a new carbon/composite keel grillage, providing an even greater ratio of strength and stiffness to weight. Further weight reduction together with increased rigidity is made possible through use of the latest epoxy E-Glass vacuum infusion processes.

Comfortable fast cruising and competitive racing
Innovative design features throughout ensure that the Xp 44 will be a pleasure to sail both in racing and cruising mode. An optional carbon bowsprit allows for asymmetric and Code sails to be flown, either in conjunction with or without the removable anchor roller. Additional details such as a ‘pop-up’ cockpit table which fits flush to the deck, optional folding bathing platform, and customizable wheel pedestal instrument mounts offer comfort and convenience in an ergonomically designed cockpit.

Unique solutions
Teak veneered bulkhead and interior details are X-Yachts normal high-standard, as well as some remarkable new interior details such as the new idea of a sliding navigation table/seat enabling the main cabin layout to be perfect for navigation as well as for social life. Both the interior and exterior of the Xp 44 will introduce solutions that will set her apart. The Xp 44 wil make her debut early in 2011.
