Volvo Penta - eight of the cleanest

Eight new Volvo Penta diesels in the D1 - D4 range fulfil the emissions stipulations of the 2006 legislation for the EU and America for new engines to the market. The output is up to 180hp and the target audience is in sail yachts and motor boats. There is an electrically operated key ignition to replace the stop / start mechanism.

The D6, D9 and D12 series
The Lake Constance based company HL Schiffstechnik has developed an efficient catalytic convertor for the Volvo Penta D6 series with its 370hp engine and its IPS 400 and IPS 500 gearing for sports cruisers. The emissions from this engine are indeed lower that the prescribed BSO II regulations. VolvoPenta is also launching the D9-500 onto the market in its 6-cylinder 500hp (370kw) engine and the D12-800, a 6-cylinder with 800hp and 588kw.
