Pershing 72 - new definition of Open class

Pershing, the ultra-sporty brand of the Italian Ferretti Group, and Poltrona Frau, the leading Italian manufacturer of luxury seating facilities of all types, collaborated closely together in the development of the 72' (22.26m). Despite its name, an Italian Open (sports cruiser with covered deck house) is nearly always more or less enclosed. Frequently, the term “Open” merely refers to a sliding roof or a sliding door leading to the cockpit. However, with the Pershing 72', this boat class has been almost completely redefined.

The glass sliding roof measures just under 4m2 and next to the wide sliding door, the aft saloon window can be lowered down into the floor behind the sofa. Consequently, the otherwise closed-off deck saloon and the cockpit merge to form an integrated and well ventilated whole. Further innovations include a hard top element that can be extended to the rear from the saloon roof in two stages, thus shading the external seating arrangement in the cockpit like an awning.

At the helmsman’s position, the joystick is located within easy reach between the two seats. Large windows in the owner’s state room are among the trademarks of yards belonging to the Ferretti Group. In the case of the Pershing marque, the 72' is the first to offer an expansive view from the bedroom. In all, there are three owner and guest cabins plus one for the crew. With two MTU engines developing 1,823 HPmetric each and Arneson surface drives, the craft is capable of speeds of up to 45 kn (83 km/h).
