European Powerboat of the Year 2012 Awards

Each year Europe’s best in the boating industry are rewarded with the "Oscars of watersports“: The international “European Powerboat of the year 2012”. The expert panel consists of editors-in-chief of Europe’s top seven motorboat magazines from Norway, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Germany. The jury nominated 25 new boats in 5 categories. Every year, a rough 200 new boats emerge on the market.

35 ft class cause for discussion
While the jury was mostly in agreement about the nominees of the small category of up to 25 ft length, the multitude of the 35 ft class was causing a lot of discussion, as in this segment almost every big ship yard had a lot to offer. The middle class is dominated by new boats from Great Britain, Sweden, Germany and Poland. The premier segment is continually dominated by Italy, France and Great Britain. Traditionally dominated by the Dutch, for the first time now the Polish Delphia yard was nominated for displacement yacht. As usual, the panel of motorboat experts gave out an innovation award, as well.

The Innovation Award 2012 went to: Goldfish 23eFusion.

All innovative products of the motorboat industry from the past year were tested and rated in this category. “The Norwegian outboard electro boat with a max speed of up tp 47 knot and a range of up tp 45 miles combines the advantages of a modern electro drive with the performance of a conventional speedboat”, explains the expert panel lead by Torsten Moench, editor-in-chief of BOOTE magazine from the Delius Klasing publishing house.
