ASTenders Extend Luxury Carbon Tender Lineup with New 310 and Folding Transom Option
POTSDAM, Germany — January 2026 — German carbon specialist AST has expanded its ASTender lineup with a new 310 model (3.10 m long), further strengthening its presence in the superyacht tender segment. The new size complements the existing models ASTender 280, 340 and 400 and is available in three configurations: tiller, jockey and side console — alongside an optional folding transom now available for the ASTender models up to 340.
Since launching its first rigid carbon tender in 2020, AST has become synonymous with lightweight performance and bespoke craftsmanship. The ASTender family originally comprised the 280, 340 and 400; the ASTender 310 fills a key segment in the portfolio, delivering an ideal blend of agility and usability for owners of luxury yachts seeking a tender that combines ease of handling with premium features.
The ASTender 310 is offered in three steering formats — tiller for the purest connection to the water, jockey for sport-oriented operation, and a side console for greater versatility and comfortable seating. This diversification underscores AST’s commitment to tailor-made solutions for discerning clients.
To further enhance practicality, AST now offers an innovative folding transom option on its ASTenders 280, 310 and 340. This feature has been designed specifically for yachts with very small tender garages where space is a critical asset, reducing overall length for storage and simplifying launching and recovery operations.
ASTender 280 Folding Transom
Across the range, ASTenders remain among the most customizable tenders in the market, with a staggering 5.8 billion possible combinations of layout, finish, propulsion and accessory options. Owners can specify everything from gelcoat colours and deck materials to ergonomic seating and advanced navigation packages, ensuring each craft is a bespoke extension of its mothership.
Safety and performance continue to define the ASTender ethos. Starting at just 44 kg, the rigid carbon fibre hull delivers exceptional strength with minimal weight, resulting in the lightest rigid tenders in the world — a key advantage for fuel efficiency, ease of handling and compatibility with electric propulsion systems. ASTenders are the only rigid tenders certified under CE Category C standards, featuring four independent waterproof buoyancy compartments that contribute to an unsinkable design, setting a new benchmark for safety in the class.
Sustainability is a central pillar of AST’s design philosophy. The company employs closed-mould composite production with strict emissions control, and the lightweight tenders require at least 30% less power — and therefore lower emissions — than traditional RIBs and jet tenders. The ASTender models are easily driven by electric outboards, offering a quieter, cleaner alternative without compromising performance. Recycled PET foam cores are used in hull structures and production focuses on minimizing waste and energy consumption.
Founded in 2017, AST has established itself within the superyacht sector in less than ten years. The company combines advanced naval architecture expertise with meticulous craftsmanship, delivering premium tenders defined by performance, durability and minimalist design.
