TAKACAT GmbH is the European manufacturer of the unique Takacat inflatable boats. Since 2007, inventor Greg Sowden (Auckland/New Zealand) has been working to provide the international market with an innovative and exceptional line of catamaran inflatable boats. The smallest Takacat inflatable is the T240L with a length of 2.4m and a weight of 20Kg, the largest model 460LX "The Biggie" measures 4.6m, is rated for 20hp and can also be fitted with an optional GRP RIB floor, see Takacat YouTube Channel. Key attributes are safety, stability and energy efficiency, coupled with ease of use and versatility.
The innovative design of TAKACAT's catamaran inflatable boats evolved from Greg Sowden's experience of a lifetime of inflatable boat involvement. Whenever his time permits he is on the water, diving, fishing and exploring. His varied experiences have led him to develop new types of catamaran inflatable boats that are rugged, powerful, easily portable and versatile.
Takacat catamaran inflatable boats are not only a good choice for recreational use. They are built to a high quality and are robust, making them popular with professional organizations, teams, rescuers and explorers alike, e.g. NZ Coastguard Boating Education, NZ Sailing Trust, Barba Whale Expedition, Water Rescue (DLRG, Fire Brigade) etc.
